Abraham Hernandez, one of the best trickliners in the world

We invited Abraham Hernandez for an interview, one of the best trickliners at the moment, to share with us some of the path that took him to reach the level he has today. His background, how he lives his slacklife and what he still hopes to achieve in the slackline world.

THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

What's your sport background, prior to slackline?

“Before practicing slackline I played football, did cheerleading, a bit of breakdance and various circus disciplines.

In the circus I learned acroyoga, trapeze, aerial performances and fire launch. ”

How did you find out about slackline and when have you started?

“I have been practicing slackline since the summer of 2013. At that time I went to a music festival to do a aerial show.

At the festival I ended up finding people who were doing slackline. The result was that I spent the whole festival doing slackline, ending up not doing the air shows. ”

What is your favorite slackline to do trickline?

“Until recently, my favorite slackline was the Surfline but, in June, I tried the 25 meter Jibline and fell in love. I think it should be 30 meters to be a perfect slackline.”

What was your first big win in slackline?

“My first big victory in slacklining was when I landed my first double flip. Then I had only a few months of slackline, there were a lot of people trying, but few people had managed it.

This victory forced me to take a short break, in which I said to myself, if you got this in such a short time, do not imagine where you can get, just see. ”

At this moment what is that you dream of achieving?

“Right now I’m not working on any particular trick.

I’m still strengthening my arm. When I take a strong lash I resent myself for several days, which is not helping me much. ”

Wich was the competition you enjoyed most?

“There are a lot of competitions that I really enjoyed, one of them, the best known in Chile, Slack That Beach.

I also enjoyed a lot the world championship of 2015, in Brazil, the Gopro Mountain Games in USA, Redbull Airlines in Italy and, of course, the most popular and known worldwide competition, the Slackline Masters in Munich, powered by Gibbon.

With so many flips, what was your worst trickline injury?

“My worst injury was in August 2017, a month before the World Cup in Japan, when I fractured my right humerus while training in Mallorca.”
