“Between 2013 and 2014 I had seen initiation slacklines in some parkS. Actually, that did not attract me much, I did not understand the interest of crossing a 10 meter strap, fixed between two trees.

Already in 2015, for the first time, I saw someone doing trickline. I knew right away that it would be something I would enjoy doing, and I had just realized that slackline was not just about going through little lines, but a universe full of fun.

It was then that I bought my first slackline and started trying various tricks. Then I met some slackliners, with whom I went to the first slack festivals and weekends. We became more than friends and for me, today, they are a second family, the slackline family. ”

“Slackline, in general, is becoming more and more practiced by women, it is essentially in the trickline that fewer women are found. First, I think that seeing almost only men in competitions scares women, and they do not dare to participate.

It is true that the level of women is technically inferior to the level of men, but this is true in almost all sports. However, I do not think that is a reason to be afraid to participate. In fact, the artistic style of women is often much more beautiful than the steeze of a men. In addition, with the increase in the number of girls practicing, gender categories can be created in competitions, which will greatly help them to progress more quickly.

There is also the problem that some competitions condition the participation of women, such as Redbull airlines, under the pretext that the level is lower. This has to completely change, because they must have space in this type of event to show that this sport is mixed.

Finally, some improvements in the setups of the competitions would allow more girls to participate, because for now the lines are always very high and very tense. It must be remembered that women usually have heights and weights lower than men’s. This makes it all much more difficult and even dangerous for them (we would not ask women today to go skiing with big male skis or paragliding with very large sails for them). ”
